Actor Rainn Wilson is helping to raise awareness about mental health issues by producing a new Tv special.

The Office star is producing Life Continued: Defeating Depression for his SoulPancake company and the show will air on MTv on World Mental Health Day, which falls on 10 October (13).

The programme will tell the stories of two American college students battling depression, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He says, "SoulPancake is excited to partner with MTv to tell the brave stories of two college students who found their way out of the darkness. We hope this special can inspire viewers to seek help and support, and find the courage to heal."

Wilson and producers at MTv are also joining forces with officials at The Jed Foundation to set up a custom resource centre on HalfofUs.com, which will aim to help viewers who relate to the stories featured in the special. The collaboration is part of the Love Is Louder campaign to aid anyone who feels mistreated, misunderstood or alone.
