Reba McEntire is putting her faith in god following the end of her marriage.

The country singer announced her split from husband of 26 years, Narvel Blackstock, earlier this month, but remains hopeful for the future.

She told Nash Country Weekly magazine: ''I look forward to what's next. People always ask me, 'What are you going to do next?' Well, I dunno; God hasn't told me yet. God is my manager, my tour manager, my scheduler, everything, and He'll come up with the greatest things.''

Reba, 60, also thanked her fans for supporting her through the troublesome split.

She said: ''I just appreciate all the fans' support and love that they've always given me. We'll just continue to enjoy our music and time together as we always have.''

The couple announced their separation in a mutual statement released by Narvel's record label, Big Machine.

It said: ''Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other. They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time.''

It's thought Narvel's daughter-in-law Kelly Clarkson -- who is married to his son Brandon Blackstock -- tried to save the couple's marriage.

A source said: ''They've been living apart for two years. Kelly urged them not to split and she's the reason they didn't split earlier.

''She was really fighting for them to make it work and stay together.''
