Two members of Rebecca Ferguson's family have been shot in a drive-by shooting in Everton. The singer is said to be "shocked and terrified" by a targeted attack that seriously injured her children's uncle and grandfather on Wednesday evening, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Karl Dures, 51 and his son Craig Dures, 27, were shot in the leg and face as they stood on the corner of Lance Close. Ms Ferguson - who rose to fame after appearing on The X-Factor - dated Karl's son, also called Karl, and had two children with him. The pair ended their relationship before Ferguson's appearance on the singing show, though the families have remained close.

A friend of Ms Ferguson told the Sunday Mirror: "This is very scary for everyone.

"Rebecca is absolutely shocked by it. Obviously her first thought is for the children who are still a big part of Karl and his family's lives.

"Rebecca always puts their welfare first. Her priority is to make sure they're safe and that they feel secure at all times."

The two victims remained in hospital this weekend after taking themselves to Royal Liverpool Hospital.

A 36-year-old man from Kirkby was arrested in Didsbury on suspicion of attempted murder, while a 32-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Ms Ferguson has recently been touring throughout Europe, last night performing in Cologne, Germany. She was playing in Berlin on the night of the shooting.
