Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Michelle Gellar's sons are best friends.

The two actresses have remained close since working on the 1999 movie 'Cruel Intentions' with Reese's former husband Ryan Phillippe and they often carpool with their children.

Speaking about her and Freddie Prinze Jr's son Rocky, and Reese's youngest child Tennessee, with husband Jim Toth, Sarah Michelle revealed that the three year olds are extremely close.

She told 'Entertainment Tonight': ''Reese's son and my son are best friends.''

Sarah Michelle, 38, also admitted that she finds it hard to believe it has been 16 years since 'Cruel Intentions' - which also starred Selma Blair - was released.

She said: ''We all see each other, so you don't think you're getting older. Then all of the sudden you're faced with the revival of your movie, with all these young kids in it, and we're like, 'Oh, we're old.' That's when it hits you.''

Sarah Michelle married Freddie Prinze Jr 13 years ago and the couple also have a daughter Charlotte, born in 2009.

Reese tied the knot with Ryan in 1999 and the couple had two children, Ava and Deacon, before splitting in 2007.

Reese went on to marry Jim Toth in 2011.
