Reese Witherspoon is helping plan Sofia Vergara's wedding.

The 'Modern Family' actress is preparing to tie the knot with actor Joe Manganiello and her 'Hot Pursuit' co-star is one of a group of friends assisting with organising the lavish nuptials.

Sofia explained: ''Joe and I are both trying to figure out the wedding because our schedules are so crazy.

''We initially wanted a small wedding but it didn't work out with how many people we wanted there, so we want it really big now.

''Reese is helping, as are all my girlfriends.''

Sofia - who has 21-year-old son Manolo from a previous relationship - also admitted she is open to having children with the 'Magic Mike XXL' star.

She told Closer magazine:: ''I'm 43 and have a son, but Joe doesn't have children and is younger than me so I've not ruled out having a family together.

''I'll leave it up to God to see what happens.''

Despite her success, Sofia credits her family and friends for helping her stay grounded.

She said: ''I try to make work just one part of my life, not the whole thing.

''I try to enjoy what I do, make it real and bring my friends and family along to enjoy it - the money, my house, the events.

''Life goes fast so you can't take work too seriously. I hope my job and fame haven't changed me.''
