Reese Witherspoon sends e-mails at two in the morning.

The 'Wild' star's busy schedule juggling her career and her family life has meant she never has time to send her important messages in the day.

When asked if she plans outfits ahead of time, she told PEOPLE magazine: ''I don't have time! I put the kids to bed, and I literally collapse, or I do work.

''Then I wake up at two in the morning and send a bunch of e-mails and then try to get three more hours of sleep before the baby wakes up crying.''

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old beauty - who has 15-year-old daughter Ava and 11-year-old son Deacon from a previous relationship, and two-year-old son Tennessee with husband Jim Toth - previously admitted it can get quite ''chaotic'' balancing her home and work life.

She explained: ''It can get chaotic sometimes, but whether you're working a lot or not, life with children will always be a bit unpredictable. All mothers have a lot to deal with, and I've been doing it since I was 22 and Ava was born ...

''They've seen most of my films, and needs to say my daughter loves 'Legally Blonde!' But when I come home, they see me as a mother. They want me to listen to what they've been doing, help them with their homework. It's only their friends who see me as the big movie star.''
