It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since Reese Witherspoon played aspiring lawyer Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. But to celebrate the film’s anniversary (and prove she hasn't aged at all in 15 years) the actress re-created some of Elle’s most famous looks on Instagram.

Reese started by posting a video reminding us all how to ‘bend and snap’ (incase we’d forgotten) and wrote, ‘Happiest #LegallyBlonde15,’ while inviting fans to share their memories with the hashtag.

She then showed off costumes from the film including her pink bunny outfit and ears, the sequinned bikini she wore in her Harvard Law School entrance-exam video, the coloured newsboy cap and of course Elle’s pink fuzzy pen.

Speaking on Instagram’s blog about the movie Reese said: “It was a really fun cast and everybody was excited about creating something that wasn’t just confection. It actually had a meaningful story that we had no idea would resonate so strongly with so many people. And it was about female empowerment. It wasn’t necessarily about the girl getting the guy.”

“I owe so much to the creation of that character. She’s a big part of who I am as a person. I put a lot of myself into that — a positive person who is trying not to let other attitudes bring her down. I am really proud of what we created.”

“And it was an incredible effort. It was just a really special moment that I will never forget. It makes me so proud that people watch it and it’s still relevant and it reaches so many people all over the world,” she added. “It’s very rare you create a character that people know that well.
