Singer Rick Springfield is playing through the pain after suffering second degree burns in a tea-spilling accident.

The Jessie's Girl hitmaker scolded himself when a mug he was drinking from escaped his grip.

Asked about why his left hand was taped up with gauze and bandages during an appearance on U.S. Tv breakfast show Today on Tuesday (26Nov13), Springfield said, "I burned myself. That's the problem with drinking tea... (I) got a second degree burn..., but it's Ok I can still play (guitar) with it."

The rocker is currently on tour in North America and will not be postponing dates.
