Fact: Jessie's Girl singer Rick Springfield is to rock out with Meryl Streep in Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody's new movie. Springfield will play one of Streep's bandmates in Ricki & the Flash, about a washed-up rock star trying to reconnect with her kids. The rocker isn't new to acting - he played Dr. Noah Drake on U.S. daytime soap General Hospital, and he has appeared on shows like Californication and Hawaii Five-0.

Fact: Singer Rick Springfield helped make a fan's proposal extra special by performing his hit Jessie's Girl as he popped the question to his girlfriend on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Monday (05May14). Ironically, the guy was called Jessie - and his girl said yes.

Fact: Rocker and actor Rick Springfield is to be honoured with the 2,525th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Jessie's Girl hitmaker will unveil the latest plaque on Hollywood Boulevard on 9 May (14), with tributes from the likes of singer/songwriter Richard Marx and Rascal Flatts star Jay DeMarcus.
