Miss Universe Paulina Vega Has Become The Latest Celebrity To Take Aim At Tycoon Donald Trump Following Ill-advised Remarks He Made Last Month (Jun15) About America's Immigration Issues.
The businessman has lost lucrative deals, while TV network bosses at Univision, Televisa and NBC pulled the plug on plans to air his Miss USA pageant following his controversial comments, during which he suggested many Mexicans living in the U.S. are "rapists" who bring drugs and crime into the country.
And now Colombian beauty queen Vega has spoken out about Trump's speech.
Taking to her Instagram account over the weekend (04-05Jul15), she wrote, "I find Mr. Trump's comments unjust and hurtful. As a Colombian and as Miss Universe, I want to show my support and validate the sentiments of the Latin community.
"I strongly believe that dividing and categorizing humankind only holds it back. Acknowledging and embracing the differences that exist across humanity is the first step in real and substantial development. We must strive together in order to improve the common good."
Firing back at her, Trump raged, "Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, criticized me for telling the truth about illegal immigration, but then said she would keep the crown - Hypocrite."
She's not the only Latin star to criticise Trump over his remarks - Ricky Martin and Eva Longoria have also lashed out, while J Balvin and Roselyn Sanchez have scrapped appearances at the Miss USA pageant on 12 July (15).
