Rihanna gets a Maori tribal tattoo with an inked mallet and chisel before leaving New Zealand.
Rihanna is currently in New Zealand currently on her 'Diamonds World Tour'.
The singer wanted to embrace the country's rich culture and decided to get a Maori tribal tattoo inked on her right The 25 year-old decided get the tattoo done in the traditional Maori process.
Ta Moko tattoos are performed by using a chisel, ink pigment and a mallet.

A two-minute video of the procedure was filmed by local musician Tiki Taane and tattoo artist Inia Taylor, who then posted the clip on YouTube this past Tuesday (0ct 8th).
The 'Rude Boy' singer grimaced in the clip but managed to stay silent throughout, but she found the most painful part towards the end, when the tattooist began chiselling at the skin on her knuckles.
After the process is complete her hand is left bloodied and bruised.
The tattoo Rihanna picked was an elaborate design of lines and symbols that extended from her fingernails down to the middle of her forearm.
The studio is called Moko Ink and according to their website "Moko Ink is the world's first Maori Tattoo Studio specialising in the contemporary use and creation of traditional Maori and Polynesian Tatu."

Rihanna has since left New Zealand where she performed three shows in its capital city, Auckland. Before departing she posted on twitter, "Bye bye New Zealand! I love you! Hate to leave . . . soon.
The native Barbadian is headed to South Africa for the next shows of her 'Diamonds World Tour'.
