The 74 year-old rocker, who is the first-ever musician to appear in the footwear commercial series, follow in the footsteps of sporting figures like Joe Montana, Mark Cuban and Joe Namath with his new modelling gig.

"Ringo possesses the charm, cool charisma and instant global recognition that will elevate awareness for our popular Relaxed Fit footwear collection," Skechers President Michael Greenberg said. "As we move from the sports world to the music world with this campaign, Ringo is the perfect ambassador to illustrate how our comfortable footwear helps keep you relaxed in any situation."

The Liverpool native's ad will debut in spring 2015, and Skechers have guaranteed his new shoe will be a "roomier fit" and "instant comfort."

Although no picture or sneak peak of Ringo's upcoming signature footwear has been released, due to the music legend's memorable past, the spring campaign will most likely have a cool, unique and groovy feel to it.

However, this isn't the first time Ringo has used his high-profile status to promote a product, he recently became a model for a John Varvatos campaign which has collaborated with the Ringo Starr Peace & Love Fund.
