Rita Ora has been announced as the host of the upcoming MTV Europe Music Awards, with the ceremony to take place in London for the first time in more than 20 years.

The 26 year old singer will also be using the occasion to perform some new music, her first in several years, at the SSE Arena in Wembley, North London, on November 12th. The performance will also include her recent collaboration with Avicii, ‘Lonely Together’.

“I've always watched it, since I was younger,” says Kosovo-born Ora in reaction to her appointment. “I've always kind of had memories from the MTV EMAs and I'm from Europe.”

Rita Ora has grown bored of listening to 'Despacito'.

The chart-topping Brit made the confession during a game of Billboard's series '1 Has 2 Go', in which she's given a number of song options and has to decide to cut one particular record.

Given a choice between Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's 'Despacito', DJ Khaled's 'Wild Thoughts', and Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You', Rita made what was, perhaps, a rather surprising decision.

Simon Cowell made things a little awkward during the filming of the bootcamp stage of this year’s ‘X Factor’ on Sunday (July 10). The music mogul decided to tease fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger about her ex-boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, but the former Pussycat Doll didn't see the funny side.

Jay Z’s Roc Nation label has responded to the lawsuit filed by singer Rita Ora in December, with a countersuit claiming breach of contract. However the lawsuit is likely to just go away, as Ora’s lawyer Howard King claims Jay Z has already promised to release the singer from her contract.

According to TMZ, in the lawsuit Roc Nation claim they have already spent more than $2.3 million marketing Ora’s second album which is yet to be released. Ora signed to the label in 2008 when she was unknown and was contracted for five albums, only one of which has been released so far.

Louisa Johnson, who was crowned this year’s ‘X-Factor’ winner on Sunday, may have had some past music industry experience it has been claimed. Two professional-looking music videos featuring the 17-year-old have recently resurfaced online, showing the ‘X-Factor’ winner performing two songs, ‘Go’ and ‘Lately’.

In the professionally shot videos Johnson can be heard belting out the songs, with her famous powerhouse vocals, which assured her victory in the ITV talent show on Sunday. Johnson, from Essex, is the show’s youngest ever winner at just 17-years-old.

As the current series of ‘The X-Factor’ continues to suffer from a drop in ratings, Simon Cowell is said to be considering eliminating two acts every week to keep viewers interested. The move comes after girl band Alien Uncovered and Leeds-born singer Bupsi became the first two contestants to be eliminated from the competition last Sunday, as part of a shock double elimination.

According to The Sun, the double elimination cause a a slight spike in viewing figures and now Cowell and ITV bosses are said to be considering using the format every week, in a bid to attract a larger audience.

A new biography on singer and ‘X-Factor’ judge Rita Ora has revealed that she was groomed by a 26 year old man when she was just 14 and attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. Ora spoke about the relationship in a previously unpublished interview which was unearthed during the research for the new unauthorised biography on the singer.

In an extract from the book, published by The Sun, Ora is quoted as saying: “I was 14 when I had my first relationship with a guy. I would say he was about 26. It is child abuse really, isn't it? I don’t want to say I suffered, because I wanted it.”

The name changes are said to be due to ‘copyright’ issues, but it’s common practice in the groups’ category to give acts a rebranding before the live shows.

Simon Cowell didn't want to mentor the Overs again on the ‘X-Factor’ this year, so Sunday night’s edition of the Six Chair Challenge was particularly tough for the talent show judge. Faced with picking which six contestants he would take to the judges’ houses, Cowell was indecisive and at times ruthless, as he whittled down the remaining contestants.

‘X Factor’ judge Rita Ora really is dating rock musician Travis Barker, the drummer with Blink-182, according to a new report by Us Weekly.

Rumours started in September when 39 year old Barker, 15 years Ora’s senior, posted a black-and-white shot on Instagram of the pair of them at the Power 106 All-Star Game in Los Angeles. “Me and the beautiful @ritaora at @power_106 #Power106AllStars,” he wrote, before Ora shared to photo and added “Nice to see you too.”

ITV has announced some pretty major names from the pop world as guests for the judges’ houses stage of ‘The X Factor’ over the next few weeks, the biggest of which is former alumnus of the show Louis Tomlinson who’ll be assisting Simon Cowell.

23 year old Tomlinson, who finished in third place on ‘The X Factor’ with One Direction back in 2010, will be helping Cowell choose which singers from the “overs” category will be going through to the live shows later in the series. Tomlinson will be replacing Cowell’s regular aide Sinitta in the chair, and ends speculation linking former judge Louis Walsh with the role.

The newcomers to the judging panel, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora, will be joined by ‘Uptown Funk!’ hitmaker Mark Ronson and American pop star Meghan Trainor respectively.

Louis Walsh could be in the frame to return to ‘The X Factor’ amid increasing concerns about flagging ratings. He is reported to be in talks to return to the ITV show in time for the live shows, even though he departed before the current series started.

Rumours have abounded since the start of September that Simon Cowell has been putting in ‘crisis calls’ to Walsh, the man he axed from the panel earlier this year having served on it since the show began in 2004.

A source close to the ITV production has now told The Sun on Thursday (September 24th) that Walsh may now be poised to make a spectacular return as a ‘fifth judge’ – partly to counteract the presence of Nick Grimshaw, whom viewers apparently find “boring” and has reportedly displeased bosses who believe he’s the main reason for the new series’ poor ratings so far.

After being axed from the ‘X-Factor’ after 11 years, Louis Walsh has hit out at the show’s new judging panel and in particular DJ Nick Grimshaw. But despite no longer being on the series, the 63 year old has said he still tunes into ITV every Saturday and thinks the show's ratings will improve.

The ‘X-Factor’ has enjoyed a slight ratings boost in its third week of series 12, with 7.55 million viewers tuning into ITV on Saturday evening. However the numbers are still significantly lower than last year's and the show is yet to go had-to-head with BBC One’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, which begins in two weeks.

Ratings for the ‘X-Factor’ have been low this series despite a new judging panel.

According to The Mirror, 7.55 million watched the show live on ITV at 8pm, and then a further 359,000 caught the episode on the ITV+1 channel. However this time last year the show was pulling in 8.43 million on ITV and a further 441,000 viewers an hour later.

Nick Grimshaw has revealed that he and fellow new ‘X-Factor’ judge Rita Ora once shared a snog at Glastonbury festival while watching the Rolling Stones. The revelation came after an ‘X-Factor’ promo clip was released showing Ora confessing that she had tried to kiss the DJ at the festival but he turned her down.
