Rita Ora is fanning the flames of the current rumours that she’s ‘Becky’, the mystery woman referred to by Beyonce in her newly released ‘visual album’ Lemonade. The British singer has appeared to reference to controversy not only with her new choice of outfit, but also in her latest Instagram pic.

Ever since Bey’s latest album dropped by surprise at the weekend via Tidal, her fans have been scouring the internet and the record’s lyrics for any clues as to the real identity of ‘Becky with the good hair’, a girl with whom her husband Jay Z was apparently unfaithful to her.

Ora, 25, has emerged as the key contender in fans’ eyes, and she dropped a visual clue in her choice of dress on Tuesday (April 26th) as she emerged from her hotel in New York wearing the same red Gucci dress that Beyonce is seen wearing in the ‘Formation’ music video.

The day before, she used Snapchat to post a picture of herself wearing a yellow bra with lemons over the nipples, with a ‘J’ pendant round her neck – something that the Beyhive has taken as exhibit ‘B’ in the case.

And finally, she used Instagram to post a picture of the movie poster for Liz Taylor’s 1973 movie Ash Wednesday, with a handclap emoji in the caption. The film’s plot just so happens to concern the desperate attempts of a 55 year old woman to reinvigorate her loveless marriage and tempt her disinterested husband by getting full-body cosmetic surgery - a pointed barb at recent rumours that all is not well in Bey and Jay Z's relationship?

For her part, Beyonce has stayed silent since the album was released three days ago, so we can’t be entirely sure whether the love rivalry at the centre of the politically-charged Lemonade is autobiographical or just made up for the sake of the album. However, her fans immediately took most of the record’s themes to be directed at her husband of eight years, with whom she has a 4 year old daughter, Blue Ivy.

Murmurings of romance between Ora and the New York rapper have been around for a while, with Ora being forced to vociferously deny such rumours during a radio interview as long as two years ago.

However, Ora is currently in the middle of a contractual battle with Jay Z’s Roc Nation label, after they signed her in 2008 but have not produced a second album for her.
