Rita Ora is the latest in a succession of names to be attached to the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation. The 'How We Do' singer was announced as the latest addition to the 50 Shades cast via The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week, with the 23-year-old singer signed on to star as Mia Grey, the adopted sister of the lead character Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan.

The news of her appointment was later confirmed by Ora herself, when she tweeted earlier this week, "It's official! I've been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian's sister Mia. #FiftyShades."

Ora joins Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who plays billionaire Christian Grey's love interest in the film, on the film set. The singer will also star alongside Eloise Mumford, Luke Grimes, Jennifer Elche and Max Martini in the film, with further cast-members expected to be announced as filming continues.

This marks a major step in the acting career of the British singer, who previously appeared in the last instalment of the Fast & Furious series, Fast Six, as well as a number of television roles, including a stint on 90210. In one of her earliest roles, Ora was one of the minor characters in the 2004 British comedy Spivs and she also appeared as a guest-star in the short-lived Alan Davies-starring The Brief in the same year.

Filming on the movie adaptation of the book has been delayed a various points, thanks largely to Charlie Hunnam's exit from the movie before filming began, but as EL James' recent Instagram image has shown, filming is now under way at last.

The 50 Shades fo Grey movie will be released on 13 February, 2015, Valentine's Day weekend.
