Rob Lowe Slams Bella Thorne For Insensitive Tweets About Mudslides

Thorne had dashed off a quick tweet complaining about traffic jams in Santa Barbara - not knowing that it was because of the deadly mudslides that have killed 17 people so far.

Rob Lowe has hit out at fellow star Bella Thorne after the actress for complaining about traffic in Santa Barbara in the aftermath of the deadly Californian mudslides this week.

“F*** u 101 to santa barbra. I’m missing my boyfriends first date on his tour :(((,” Thorne had tweeted on Wednesday (January 10th) in a post she has since deleted, referencing her rapper boyfriend Mod Sun.

However, veteran Hollywood star Lowe noticed the insensitive tweet, and took to Instagram to slam the 20 year old ‘Famous in Love’ star for missing the point.

Playing the hero of the piece isn't necessarily the best role to land in an action movie according to Rob Lowe, who takes on the role of the vicious Reece Tenneson in his new movie 'Monster Trucks'. He thinks that you can have a lot more fun when you get to be real nasty.

Rob admits that while it was 'a challenge', he had a lot of fun taking on the role of the main bad guy in the Chris Wedge-directed 'Monster Trucks'; he's a character who threatens to stand in the way of high school protagonist Tripp Coley (played by Lucas Till) and his massive, slimy, unusual new pet nicknamed Creech who lives in his homemade truck.

How To Be A Latin Lover Trailer

Ever since he was a little boy, Maximo has been interested in living the high life, but certainly not in working for it. He decides to marry a rich older woman, in the hopes that she'll die soon and leave him her enormous house and her money. But after 25 years, she's still alive and kicking - that is, kicking him out. She dumps him for a younger man, forcing him to abandon his life of luxury and move in with his sister Sara, who happens to be actually making something of her life. She gets increasingly frustrated by Maximo's attitude, but her young son Hugo takes an unlikely shine to his homeless uncle. Thus, Maximo decides to try and bag himself another grandmother by helping Hugo get closer to his rich classmate, whose grandma Celeste is a widow with billions in the bank. However, as time goes on, he starts to realise there's more to life than riches, and that love is far more valuable than he could ever have realised.

The Interview Review

There's half of a great satire here, as Seth Rogen, James Franco and Evan Goldberg combine that freewheeling mayhem from This Is the End with some more pointed political comedy. But in its second half, the script begins to repeat its less-funny jokes, wallowing in smutty gags and excessive violence. These things may please the chuckleheads in the audience, but they wear everyone else out. And they make us work to see the film's much more enjoyable brom-com plot and sharp social commentary.

The story is centred around swaggering TV personality Dave Skylark (Franco), whose chat show majors in shocking celebrity revelations like Eminem's homosexuality or Rob Lowe's baldness. Dave's producer Aaron (Rogen) is feeling like a second-class newsmaker when he discovers that North Korean despot Kim Jong-un (Randall Park) is a fan of Dave's show and is willing to be interviewed live on camera. Then before they can head off, two CIA operatives (Lizzy Caplan and Reese Alexander) convince Dave and Aaron to assassinate Kim with a deadly drug. And when they arrive in Pongyang their mission is complicated when Aaron falls for Kim's media director Sook (Diana Bang) and Dave falls for Kim himself.

Yes, the film has a fairly standard romantic-comedy structure, as Dave and Aaron's close friendship is strained to the breaking point by the arrival of another man. Virtually all of the dialogue is infused with gay innuendo, double entendres and full-on sex jokes. Some of this is genuinely hilarious, such as the first time Dave and Kim discover their mutual love of Katy Perry's Firework. Then that joke is brought back four or five times, so by the end it's not even mildly amusing. Pretty much every gag in the film is beaten to death, even the ones that weren't funny to begin with. Thankfully, the actors' energy never flags.

Sex Tape Review

Although it presents itself as a rude sex comedy, this movie is actually a prudish exercise in simplistic moralising. A glut of sweary dialog and leery innuendo is certainly no replacement for properly adult-oriented humour. At least Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel are relatively reliable as actors who can keep their characters likeable, but even they struggle with the trite material. And as a cowriter, Segel only has himself to blame.

Diaz and Segel play Annie and Jay, a couple whose courtship consisted mainly of having lots of sex in as many unusual places as they could think of. So it's hardly surprising that marriage and parenthood feel like a disappointment. They never have time for sex now, so when Annie's blog improbably wins a lucrative publishing deal, they celebrate by leaving the kids with the grandparents for a sexy night on their own. To get things going, they decide to film themselves on their iPad, oblivious to the fact that the video is synchronised to all of the iPads they've given to their family, friends and clients over the last few months. So now they're in a mad dash to find them all and delete their sex tape.

Honestly, does anyone actually give iPads to everyone they know? This is such a naggingly stupid premise that it leaves everything that happens feeling utterly inane, especially their contrived ignorance about how the Cloud works. Diaz and Segel bring enough charm to the film to keep the audience watching, playing even the lamest jokes as if they're hilarious. And as they race between their friends and family members, each side actor gets their cameo-style moment in which they can try to steal the show. Although even here director Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) hedges away from the genuine gross-out comedy, which leaves first-rate comical performers like Corddry, Lowe and Black looking a bit lost.

In a bid to remind people that one out of every two men and one out of every three women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, the campaign has been running since 2008 with various famous faces offering their own experiences of the disease and support of the cause.

Rob Lowe Confesses His Fake Saxophone Solo

Actors spend most of their working day pretending to be something they aren't. But how often is it that an actor is able to convince a saxophone playing President that he is performing a musical solo?

'The West Wing' and 'Californication' star Rob Lowe has revealed his embarrassment at having to admit to faking his saxophone performance at a Hollywood fundraiser. The actor, who also played a part in 'Parks and Recreation', was asked to give a live performance of his saxophone solo from the film 'St. Elmo's Fire', and decided to do so, despite not actually being able to play, and having mimed during the film.

The fundraiser was attended by former US President Bill Clinton, who plays the saxophone himself. After being asked by the band to perform with them, Lowe found himself unable to turn down the invitation, despite his esteemed audience. Lowe looks back on the incident, recalling: "The house band said, 'Why don't you come up and play the solo from 'St. Elmo's Fire'? We play it... it'll be fun'. President Clinton is in the audience [and] I'm blowing on [the saxophone], but nothing is coming out [because I removed the reed] and Quincy Jones, the great musical artist, [is clapping along]. I'm like, 'He should really know better'."
