The director, who has made a name for himself in Hollywood for horror films like the Halloween remake, will oversee the big screen adaptation of author Steve Stoliar's 1996 book Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho’s House. Stoliar served as Marx's personal secretary for the final three years of his life.

In the tome, Stoliar detailed his boss' encounters with famous friends, including Mae West, George Burns, Bob Hope and Jack Lemmon, and his relationship with volatile actress Erin Fleming, who was Marx's frequent companion in his final days.

Screenwriter Oren Moverman, who recently penned Beach Boys biopic Love and Mercy, is slated to write the screenplay.
