Williams will be auctioning off a number of items at the Doing It For The Kids sale in July (15) to benefit The Donna Louise Children's Hospice, which provides essential care for youngsters with terminal or life-threatening illnesses.

The items include handwritten lyrics to his 1997 hit Let Me Entertain You, which are expected to raise $9,600 (£6,000), and an MTV Europe Music Award given to his former band Take That for their single Babe in 1994, which is estimated to sell for $4,800 (£3,000).

Williams says, "The sale gives a great opportunity for bidders to know their money will go to such a fantastic charity, whilst also taking home some of my most prized possessions that have been personal markers of my career and life so far... It's a privilege for me to be a patron of The Donna Louise Children's Hospice; it makes a real difference to these children whose lives have been tragically limited."

Other items due to go under the hammer at London auction house Bonhams include a multi-platinum award for Williams' solo album I've Been Expecting You, and a cream suit worn by the star in the video for his track Radio, which is expected to sell for $11,200 (£7,000).
