Robert Downey, Jr. was fired from his first job at a footwear store after stealing a pair of shoes during his first week of employment.

The Iron Man star was in his teens when his filmmaker father, Robert Downey, Sr., forced him to get a job and earn his own cash, but the wannabe actor soon found himself in trouble with his new employers in his native New York for making off with items he had not paid for.

He recalls, "I got a job at a shoe shop... I think it was called Indian Walk Shoes on Broadway... and I was fired after a week. Clearly they were understaffed (to hire me)... There was some shoes missing from the inventory... Didn't work out."
