With an estimated income of $75 million between June 2013 and June 2014, Downey Jr. shows that he's somewhat similar to his onscreen counterpart, billionaire superhero Tony Stark. 2014 has actually been a fairly quiet year for Downey Jr. considering there is no Marvel blockbuster hitting our screens (featuring him, at any rate) but he still managed to maintain his spot at the top.

Second place went to wrestler turned actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, whose $52 million seems paltry compared to Downey Jr., but is still a figure most of us dream of making in a lifetime, let alone a single year. Johnson had a busy 2013 with the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain and Gain, and Fast & Furious 6, and is set to return to the big screen this summer in the blockbuster Hercules

Next on the list was Bradley Cooper, close behind Johnson on $46 million. He received an Oscar nomination earlier this year for his performance in crime drama American Hustle, but his next role will see him voicing a psychotic animated raccoon named Rocket in Marvel's long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy.

Another superhero scored the fifth spot; Chris Hemsworth, who is also the only non-American in the top five. The success of Thor 2 and racing drama Rush has pushed him firmly up the A List and aside from reprising his role as the Asgardian God in next year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Hemsworth is also signed on for a variety of high-profile projects, including Ron Howard's sea epic Heart of the Sea

However, the list did reveal that the pay gap between men and women in Hollywood is still shockingly evident: no actress managed to break the top ten, and even arguably the most famous actress working today, Angelina Jolie, only made $33 million in 2013 according to Forbes' last list.
