Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and American actress Cheryl Hines tied the knot at the Kennedy family compound on Cape Cod in Hyannis Port, Mass., on Saturday (Aug 2nd). The newlyweds said "I Do" in front of around 300 members, which included Larry David, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kevin Nealon and Ed Begley Jr.

Hines and Kennedy have been dating for two years

Kennedy and Hines, who married inside a tent on the six-acre Kennedy compound, dressed to impress for the occasion. The new bride sported a strapless Romona Keveza gown with her blonde flowing hair up while carrying white roses down the aisle, whereas the groom donned a black suit and black striped tie.

After being introduced by comedian Larry David, the pair dated for two years and only became engaged this past spring.

Kennedy Jr., who is the son of Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of former president John F. Kennedy, first had reservations about dating an actress, but he told New York Times that Larry described Hines as "the most solid person I've ever met, and the most beloved person among her peers."

And the 48 year-old actress revealed how surprised she was at her new husband sense of humour, adding, "People in my circle tend to look at people in politics as being boring."

It also seems the 60 year-old lawyer is rather romantic as Hines recently revealed to Us Weekly, "He's going to kill me if I tell you this, the first time we went scuba diving together, he picked up a starfish at the bottom of the ocean, and gave it to me."

Congratulations!
