Robert Pattinson is unsure whether 'Twilight' fans will like his new movie, 'The Rover'.

The actor's latest flick is dramatically different to the vampire franchise, and the 28-year-old star concedes that he doesn't know whether his fans will enjoy it.

He said: ''I'm curious to know whether people who liked the 'Twilight' movies will come and see things like 'The Rover'.

''Hopefully they'll enjoy it. I try to do ambitious projects but I don't know if people are going to like them. You just try to do things which are challenging and hopefully people will appreciate that.''

Pattinson is persistently linked to starring roles in big studio projects, like 'Star Wars', but says he's reluctant to get involved with another franchise.

He explained: ''They don't come into my orbit and I don't really see myself in a lot of mainstream parts. I've never been part of the group that gets these roles.''

'The Rover' is set in a post-apocalyptic Australian wasteland and sees Pattinson play the role of Ray, a slow-witted character who is a lost soul. The low-budget flick opens in the UK on August 15.
