A certain Miley Cyrus gate-crashed Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams’ performance of the chart-topping tune ‘Blurred Lines’ last night at the MySpace party. Not that those two minded – they seemed perfectly happy to let the former Disney star strut her stuff on stage. She’s friends with Pharrell, see, as the recent Daft Punk collaborator is producing her upcoming album.

She let everyone know of her actions by Tweeting “Big bro killed it tonight @Pharrell.” Blurred Lines is officially Thicke’s most successful song, with number 1s in both the U.S and the U.K. “It’s an honor and a pleasure to be number one in the UK. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of and I am so grateful to all the people who made this dream come true,” said the cheesy hit maker of his unprecedented success.

It’s not all smiles, though; the Blurred Lines Unrated video, along with some of the lyrics, has been condemned by some media outlets and protest groups as being extremely sexist. The Belfast Telegraph even say the lyrics match that of a “rapist’s charter”.

Whichever way you look at it, it’s pretty difficult to defend the x-rated video when being attacked from a feminist standpoint. That’s not what Robin Thicke’ll be worried about, as his name suggests. He’ll be rolling in all new dough from his shiney new single’s number 1 status, and quaffing champers with Pharrell.
