Rod Stewart was the latest companion for ‘Late Late Show’ host James Corden on Tuesday night’s edition of carpool karaoke. The talk show host and the singer indulged in some of Stewart’s most famous hits during the car ride, which also featured a special appearance from rapper A$AP Rocky.

Opening with Stewart’s the ‘The First Cut Is the Deepest’ Corden quizzed the singer on the most memorable ‘rock 'n roll moments’ of his storied carrier. Staying pretty coy Stewart simply answered, "There's been so many. Just drinking and a shagging and a drinking and a shagging. Smashing up hotel rooms.”

Back in their day the singer and his former band The Faces were partial to the old rock and roll cliche of trashing hotel rooms, something which Corden wanted to know the psychology behind. “It actually came around because we weren't getting the respect we deserved,” Stewart said. “We paid for hotel rooms; we didn't get room service or anything. We just didn't get any respect.”

Corden then played the hit single from rapper A$AP Rocky ‘Everyday’ which samples Stewart's vocals from Python Lee Jackson’s ‘In a Broken Dream’. As the 70 year old finished belting out his part, rapper Rocky suddenly popped up from the backseat to perform his verse on the track.

"I don't know if I've ever felt as cool as I do in this moment in my life right now," said Corden. "I genuinely don't. To be in a car, in L.A., with Rod Stewart and A$AP Rocky— this is the greatest thing I've ever done.” Rocky then disappeared again leaving Stewart saying, "He's a lovely bloke, isn't he?”

The duo then went on to tackle Stewart’s 1979 hit ‘Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?’ before the singer was recognised by a passenger in the car next to them who shouted, ‘God bless you, Rod Stewart!’ The journey finished with a rendition of Faces classic ‘Ooh La La’, giving a fitting end to what was one of Corden’s most enjoyable carpool karaoke segments yet.
