Sir Roger Moore, the veteran actor perhaps best known for his stint at portraying James Bond, has made the extraordinary revelation that there are plans afoot for an unofficial James Bond movie similar to The Expendables, which will feature all the old 007 actors.

In an interview with British tabloid paper The Sun, the 87 year old actor claimed that producers are hoping to feature him, GEORGE LAZENBY, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan in a feature film – but at the same time admitted that Sean Connery isn’t interested.

“I'd be up for it,” the legendary screen actor who played Bond seven times between 1973 and 1985 said, “but Sean balked at the idea as I don't think he wanted to be associated with Bond anymore. I'd need about ten stunt doubles!”

So, it seems this idea, awesome as it sounds, may struggle to get off the ground in the absence of the original Bond, and the one whom many claim is still the best actor to ever portray the British spy.

High-up sources indicated to The Sun that the hypothetical movie would run along the lines of The Expendables, which has produced a trilogy of films that have performed spectacularly well at the box office. Their appeal lies in seeing ageing or past-it movie hardmen of years gone by - like Dolph Lundgren, Sly Stallone and Arnie - getting together to kick some butt and show they’ve still got it. The three movies combined have grossed roughly $794 million around the world.

The future of Bond has also been speculated upon this week, with reports emerging that ‘Homeland’ and ‘Band of Brothers’ actor Damian Lewis is in the running to replace current actor Daniel Craig when his contract expires after two more films – including Spectre, which is set to be released later in 2015.
