The 68-year-old sportsman underwent quadruple bypass surgery at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles earlier this month (Apr15) after he was diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.

Abdul-Jabbar returned to the hospital on Wednesday after experiencing chest pains and dizziness, but doctors have now announced the star is recovering at home after undergoing check-ups.

A statement from the hospital, which the star shared on his Twitter.com profile, reads, "Kareem Abdul-jabbar was experiencing some dizziness following his April 16 quadruple bypass surgery... He was evaluated by his surgeon and cardiologist. After a battery of tests, they found no complications. Abdul-Jabbar was discharged from the emergency department and is back home continuing his recovery..."

The former Los Angeles Lakers player's hospitalisation came just hours after he used the microblogging site to assure fans he was doing well after his surgery, writing, "Just want to let everyone know I'm doing fine & feeling better everyday.
