Fact: British prison sitcom Porridge is to be revived after 38 years. The original scriptwriters are working on a new, modern story which is set to star the grandson of lead character Fletcher, who was played by RONNIE BARKER during the original run between 1974 and 1977.

Fact: British comedy legend RONNIE CORBETT's daughter Sophie has paid tribute to her funnyman father by naming her boutique store The Four Candles after the iconic sketch by Corbett and his late co-star RONNIE BARKER. The store, based in Brighton, England, sells clothes, jewellery, bags and furniture.

Fact: A statue of late British comedian RONNIE BARKER was unveiled in Aylesbury, England on Thursday (30Sep10). The life-sized bronze tribute was placed in the town where the funnyman played his first show more than 60 years ago and was revealed in front of his widow Joy, as well as his long term collaborator RONNIE CORBETT and OPEN ALL HOURS co-star Sir David Jason.

Fact: A handwritten script by the late British comedian RONNIE BARKER for his sketch ANNIE FINKHOUSE has been sold to a private buyer for $97,000 (GBP48,500), after going up for auction in London on Friday (21Dec07). The sketch was originally aired in 1976 on his show The Two Ronnies, which also starred RONNIE CORBETT.

Fact: <p>Late British comedian RONNIE BARKER will be honoured at the British Comedy Awards on 14 December (05) with his own accolade. The year's best writing talents will receive the Ronnie Barker Writer Of The Year award. </p>
