The sole member of the original Thunderbirds cast returning for the ITV remake is Parker, and what a fitting return it is. Parker was always there, always reliable, and when the franchise came knocking for a contemporary reboot, who was there? Well it was Parker of course.

"I am triple chuffed to be on board the new series of Thunderbirds Are Go! and reprising my role of dear old Parker with such a distinguished cast," said Graham. "My driving skills are in good nick and I am delighted to be behind the wheel again with M'Lady. (BBC)

Former Bond girl, Rosamind Pike, is set to star as the lady Parker drives around: a certain Lady Penelope Parker. She was "very excited to bring Lady Penelope 's wry wit and taste for adventure" to a new generation. "Exploring the scenes with David Graham has been an absolute delight. The scripts are very modern, very fresh and very funny. We're all eagerly anticipating our next stint in the recording studio!" she added.

The new cast includes Kayvan Novak as inventor Brains, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Tracy brothers Gordon and John and Rasmus Hardiker as the Tracy brothers Alan and Scott. The fifth Tracy brother – and possibly the most famous, Virgil - will be played by David Menkin. Grandma Tracy will be voiced by Sandra Dickinson and The Hood is played by Andres Williams.

The new series, sees the Tracy brothers piloting their ''incredible vehicles into impossible rescues across the globe'', and is set to "affectionately pay tribute'' to the classic show, created by Gerry Anderson, who died in December at the age of 83. It will air on ITV in 2015, exactly half a century after the legendary Tracy clan and the International Rescue first aired.
