Roseanne Barr has revealed that she’s slowly losing her eyesight. In an interview with The Daily Beast released on Monday, the 62 year old comedienne spoke forthrightly about her deteriorating eyesight, making the revelation as part of an explanation for her use of medical marijuana.

“I have macular degeneration and glaucoma, so it's good for me for that because I have pressure in my eyes. It's a good medicine for a lot of things,” she explained. Barr has no idea when it will happen, but she knows that eventually she will go completely blind.

“My vision is closing in now,” she elaborated. “It's something weird. But there are other weird things. That one's harsh, 'cause I read a lot, and then I thought, 'Well, I guess I could hire somebody to read for me and read to me.' But I like words and I like looking. You do what you have to do. I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible - y'know, living it up. My dad had it, too.”

Barr, who is most famous for her long-running sitcom 'Roseanne' alongside John Goodman from 1988 to 1997 that won hatfuls of People’s Choice Awards, Emmys and Golden Globes, was in New York for the interview last week ahead of the premiere of a documentary film about her failed attempt to secure the Presidential nomination for the Green Party, entitled Roseanne For President!

She also used the interview to speak about her feelings towards modern feminism and Hillary Clinton’s announcement that she’ll be running for the Democratic Presidential ticket. “I think she’s a Democrat just like they all are,” she said with characteristic bluntness. “She seems like every other Democrat. I would not like to see her win. She’s the same old shit. I’d like to see me win.”
