Rosie Huntington-Whiteley may replace Megan Fox in 'Transformers 3'

The 23-year-old Victoria's Secret model - who has no previous acting roles - is hot favourite to take over the role of Mikaela Banes in the third instalment of the action thriller franchise.

Megan shot to international fame in 2007 for her portrayal of Mikaela in the first 'Transformers' film - which she reprised in 2009's 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' - but was reported to have had a dispute with the movie's director Michael Bay which led to her leaving the project.

Megan's spokesperson said at the time: "She will not be starring in 'Transformers 3'. It was her decision."

English-born Rosie has never starred in a movie before.

She became a Victoria's Secret Angel this year having made her modelling runway debut six years before.

Shia LaBeouf - who plays Sam Witwicky in the films - has promised the third 'Transformers' movie will be more concise and with a clearer direction, after confessing that he hated the 2009 instalment.

He said: "There are a lot of people that liked the second one, but I hated it. I just didn't enjoy it.

"I thought we missed the mark. I got confused, I couldn't see what the f**k was going on, you know with certain robots... I couldn't decipher what was happening.

"I know that directors Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg are dedicated to making the best movie we possibly can, and we're not going to miss next time."
