Donald Trump Rosie ODonnell

In possibly the least surprising political pronouncement of the year, liberal media commentator Rosie O’Donnell has expressed her displeasure at the success that Donald Trump’s presidential nomination campaign has enjoyed so far, describing it as “a nightmare”.

O’Donnell, 53, has publicly clashed with the billionaire White House hopeful on many occasions in the past, and she was asked about his campaign during an interview on Monday night (November 23rd) ahead of her guest appearance in Wednesday night’s ‘Empire’. She bluntly told the Associated Press "it's a nightmare”, before simply saying “that’s my quote”.

Rosie ODonnell Elisabeth Hasselbeck Joy Behar

Wait, what’s happening over on The View? This is meant to be our relaxing daytime viewing, but recently, after the rumoured appointment of Rosie O’Donnell to the panel, daggers have been flying – in the form or some uncalled for comments.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck
Hasselbeck wasn't really enjoying the view after O'Donnell's tentative return.

It all started with the tentative plans to bring O’Donnell back to The View. When the announcement was made earlier that week, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, a former host of the ABC panel show and current Fox News contributor, interrupted her vacation for the sole purpose of calling in to Fox & Friends with some rather harsh words for her former co-host.

Well, to be fair, you’re probably familiar with the comedienne and author’s no-nonsense style and biting humor. O'Donnell will make her long-term comeback to The View this coming fall season.

Lindsay Lohan's Show Slammed By Rosie O'Donnell - Is She Right?

Lindsay Lohan Rosie ODonnell Dina Lohan Oprah Winfrey

Lindsay Lohan has been hit with the shame and bad publicity of a fellow entertainer criticising her current project. The 27 year-old actress can currently be seen on OWN's Lindsay, a reality show that follows the troubled star as she goes about her daily business and works to get her life back on track. However, comedian Rose O'Donnell has now added her voice to the admonishment of Lindsay in a caustic tweet.

Lindsay Lohan Has Been Targeted For Her New Reality TV Show, 'Lindsay.'

O'Donnell publically blasted Lohan's show, writing "The Lindsay show is a tragedy - on every level - I hope one day she gets sober for real and watches these episodes - n sees what we all do" to hundreds of 'retweets' and 'favorites' demonstrating support for the outspoken television personality's view. Lindsay hasn't had chance to respond to O'Donnell's comments, having instead been snapped partying at the Coachella Festival in California.

Zachary Gets A Sibling - Elton John And David Furnish Adopt A Second Child

Elton John David Furnish Rosie ODonnell

Elton John and David Furnish were so happy with their first son, baby Zachary, that they went back to the woman who gave birth to him and asked for a second one! The New York Post have reported that Elton, 65 and David, 50, were “over the moon” that their new arrival was on its way and have confirmed that the surrogate mother was the same one they used to bring Zachary into the world just over two years ago.

The identity of the surrogate mother is unknown, though it’s known she lives in California. We don’t know much about the second baby to enter the John-Furnish family household, though you can be certain of one thing: it will be both very well looked after and - if recent photos of Zachary looking dapper in a miniature suit are anything to go by – very well dressed. A spokesperson for Elton, Fran Curtis, would neither confirm or deny the news and said “We never discuss our clients' personal lives." Elton revealed last year that he and David were keen for Zachary to have a little brother or sister and revealed “At what stage we don’t know. But we definitely will. I don’t want him to be an only child.”

This week, we also learned that Rosie O’Donnell and her wife Michelle Rounds have adopted a baby girl named Dakota. It’s their first child together, though Rosie has four children (three adopted) with a former partner.

Welcome, Baby Dakota - Rosie O'Donnell And Wife Introduce Adopted Daughter

Rosie ODonnell

Rosie O’Donnell has adopted a baby girl named Dakota, with her wife Michelle Rounds. Access Hollywood spoke to Rosie’s rep, who confirmed the news yesterday (January 9, 2013). Dakota was just four days old when the news broke, she was born January 5, 2013 and Rosie introduced her to the world, via her Instagram account.

“we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota -#withloveandthanks — AMEN,” she told her followers and her rep added that Rosie, Michelle and Dakota are all “happy and healthy.” Rosie and Michelle married in June last year, in a private ceremony, after they discovered that Michelle had been diagnosed with desmoid tumors. Though they kept the news a secret to start with, they finally announced their news in late August.

Dakota is not Rosie’s first child though. The 50 year old comedian and TV personality has four children from a previous relationship with Kelli Carpenter, with whom she was in a relationship from 2004-7. Their children Parker, Chelsea and Blake were all adopted and Kelli gave birth to their daughter Vivienne Rose in 2002. Before dating Carpenter, O’Donnell was in a relationship with Tracy Kachtick-Anders, until they split in 2011. Rosie’s last major appearance on TV was on The Rosie Show, which featured on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network.

Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey Review

Excellent
Kevin Clash is one of America's most popular performers, and yet he's rarely recognised in public. This wonderfully engaging documentary catches us off guard with a warm and honest portrayal of an extraordinarily generous man who has never lost his childlike wonder.

Growing up in Baltimore, Clash was transfixed when Sesame Street launched in 1969 and introduced the original Muppets. Watching Jim Henson explain how they worked made Clash want to join them. After chopping up his dad's coat to make a puppet, he began putting on shows for the neighbourhood. And audiences responded. While still a teen, he became a local TV celebrity. Then at 17 he met legendary puppet builder, Kermit Love, who taught him the secrets of the business and introduced him to Henson.

Rosie O'donnell Apologises For 'Racist' Chinese Remarks

Rosie ODonnell

ROSIE O'DONNELL has apologised for comments she made on The View talk show about China which have been branded as racist.

Referring to Danny DeVito's recent appearance on the show, the actress said: "You know, you can imagine in China it's like 'ching chong, ching chong chong, Danny DeVito, ching chong chong'."

Following an uproar from Asian groups within America, the 44-year-old actress felt compelled to comment on it on yesterday's edition of The View.

"This apparently was very offensive to a lot of Asian people," she said.

"I never intended to hurt anyone, and I'm sorry for those people who felt hurt or were teased on the playground."

But it seems as though the apology has not gone far enough in some quarters. Unity: Journalists of Colour has called for the show's producers to condemn her comments.

A statement on the group's site said: "When one of the co-hosts demeans and mocks the language of an entire race of people on national television, it warrants an explanation by the show's producer at least, and by the network at most.

"By allowing O'Donnell's cheap jab at Chinese Americans to go unchecked, the network is essentially condoning racial and ethnic slurs."

The Flintstones Review

Weak
As asinine as Hollywood gets, only destined to see at least one sequel. Goodman gets Fred right, all the way down to the tiptoe bowling approach... but to what end? A silly plot about fraud at "The Quarry"? A fitting denoument to Liz Taylor's career...

Wide Awake Review

OK
Best known for dazzling us with The Sixth Sense, M. Night Shyamalan hit the big screen most recently with this perplexing dud, also about a kid with semi-mystical powers. Wide Awake is not nearly so fascinating as Sense, as it follows the story of a kid who misses his dead grandpa so much he seeks answers about grandpa's well-being from all the religions in the world. Not nearly as interesting as it could have been, Wide Awake quickly provokes yawns and smirks over its cutesy treatment of death.

A League Of Their Own Review

Excellent
Ah, baseball. The mere mention of America's pastime brings forth images of fresh grass, sunny days, endless labor disputes and another round of steroid controversy.

If you're tired of the ugliness surrounding the summer sport, or just need to be entertained, than you should check out A League of Their Own, now out on DVD. Like most great sports movies, League is more than just a series of dazzling feats between the lines. It features laughs, drama, and excitement... in short all of the aspects that make the sports section of the newspaper so captivating.

Tarzan (1999) Review

Very Good
Tarzan the Ape Man gets the Disney treatment this year. For some classic characters (Snow White, Bambi), the transition has been a positive one. For others (Pocahontas), it's been a disaster. Thankfully, Tarzan is among the former group.

The last time we saw Tarzan, he was saving a Lost City in the worst film of 1998 (shockingly titled Tarzan and the Lost City). The story is a bit more traditional this time, with Tarzan adopted by gorillas after his human parents are killed by a leopard. When he grows up, a group of British explorers stumble upon him, and after the "You Tarzan, me Jane" exchange, the British bad guy, Clayton, decides he's going to take all the gorillas back to Britain for sale. Adventure ensues, along with a love story and singing.

Beautiful Girls Review

Excellent
With a cryptic title like Beautiful Girls, one starts to wonder to whom this film is being marketed. Is it the frat boy model-ogling crowd? Is it a self-help flick for teenage girls? Is it soft porn? The answer, of course, is none of these: Beautiful Girls is a date movie, and quite a good one at that.

Something like The Big Chill meets Generation X, Beautiful Girls is one of those ensemble character movies that really defies description in terms of plot points. The ostensible main character is Willie (Timothy Hutton), who is ambivalent about girlfriend Tracy (Annabeth Gish) so heads back home to Knight's Ridge, Massachusetts to sort things out during his 10-year high school reunion. Here, he hooks up with old pals Tommy (Matt Dillon) and Paul (Michael Rapaport), each of whom is also flailing helplessly in his own romantic mess.
