The 26-year-old actress and professional dancer Val were crowned the winners of the last series of the ballroom competition but she was unable to dance on the 'Dancing with the Stars: Perfect Ten Tour' instead singing several songs at each show.
The tour wrapped on Tuesday night (11.08.15) at the Coronado Theatre in Rockford, Illinois, and Rumer took to her Instagram account to write an emotional post to Val thanking him for the incredible journey they shared and for inspiring her to succeed.
The post - which was accompanied by a collage of photos of the pair together rehearsing and performing - read: ''As my journey as your partner comes to an end and your next season with a whole new partner and new experience begins, there are a few things I thought about today. I honestly don't know if I have words to describe what this past season or this tour, but most importantly our partnership has meant to me. I know I have tried on many occasion while on tour to describe to the audience what I felt but I have always fallen short to put in words how I feel. So I'll do my best ... first I have to thank you as my teacher for challenging me everyday through your own passion and dedication to your art, for pushing me past the limits of what I believed I was capable of and even for occasionally driving me crazy with trying to make all of our dances the best they could be. Secondly I thank you for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself for putting up with me when I was scared or insecure, and being the person that didn't let me feel like I could fail no matter what anyone else said. I am truly grateful to call you my friend and I am so proud that we won together, I wouldn't have wanted to do it with anyone else. I can't wait to root for you next season. love to you always @iamvalc (sic)''
Rumer - who is the daughter of actor Bruce Willis and his ex-wife Demi Moore - had previously credited Val, 29, for transforming her into a ''completely different person'' and even got a tattoo as a permanent reminder of her time on the contest.
Explaining why she got the inking - which is based on a sketch of one of her performances on the show - she said: ''I got it because I really wanted to just have a reminder of the journey I went through. I don't think I've ever put so much - physically, mentally, emotionally - into anything, or wanted something so badly. I feel like the journey that I won has helped me grow so much into such a completely different person, and I have such a different type of confidence in myself now.''
