The search for new hosts for the controversy-hit show ‘Fashion Police’ has alighted upon RuPaul as a potential candidate.

The drama continues at the E! network show as the 54 year old ‘Drag Race’ presenter has been revealed by an unnamed source as one of the possible replacements for Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin, who quit the programme in quick succession last month.

The source told HollywoodLife.com: “E! loves working with RuPaul on the show Good Work and would like to test Ru with others they are trying out for the show when it returns. E! feels that Rupaul would be awesome and they are interested in making it work.”

No official word has yet been heard about RuPaul is being considered, though many onlookers seem to agree that the appointment would make sense. His reality talent show ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, a competition to find “America’s next drag superstar’, has proven popular, running since 2009.

It’s been a rough couple of months for ‘Fashion Police’, starting with host Giuliana Rancic’s controversial comments about actress Zendaya’s hair at the Oscars ceremony back in February. Kelly Osbourne quit the show a number of weeks after this, citing a combination of a failure to deal with the fallout of those comments in a timely manner and a feeling that things had irrevocably changed following the death of her friend and co-presenter Joan Rivers last year.

Rivers had been replaced by Kathy Griffin, who abruptly followed Osbourne out of the door at the end of March citing the show’s “intolerance”. This left just the under-fire Rancic and Brad Goreski as the hosts. E! then placed the current series on hiatus while they revamped the show, which is expected to make a return in September.
