Rupert Grint (born 24.08.1988) Rupert Grint is an English actor most famous for playing the role of Ron Weasley in the 'Harry Potter' film series based on the books by JK Rowling.

Childhood: Rupert Grint was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. His parents are Joanna, a housewife, and Nigel Grint, a dealer of memorabilia. He attended St Joseph's Primary School in Hertford and began performing in school plays. He then started attending a theatre group called Top Hat Stage and Screen School and later went to Richard Hale School but left at 16. Rupert Grint: Acting career Rupert Grint appeared in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', the first instalment in the book to film series, in 2001 aged 11.

He was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson after sending in a video of himself performing a rap about wanting to receive the part. The film was the highest grossing of the year and totalled $974 million in theatres. He subsequently appeared in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' in 2002, '. the Prisoner of Azkaban' directed by Alfonso Cuarón in 2004 and '. the Goblet of Fire' directed by Mike Newell in 2005 before David Yates took over direction in 2007's '. the Order of the Phoenix', '. the Half-Blood Prince' in 2009 and '. the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2' in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

He has won several awards for 'Harry Potter' including an Otto Award and a Young Artist Award. In 2002, he starred in the family comedy 'Thunderpants' opposite Bruce Cook. 2006, saw him opposite Julie Walters (who plays his onscreen mother in 'Harry Potter') and Tamsin Egerton in the comedy drama 'Driving Lessons'. In 2010, he appeared in the thriller 'Cherrybomb' opposite Kimberley Nixon and also 'Wild Target' alongside Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy. Neither film was very well-received. In 2011, he made a cameo in 'Little Britain' stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams' new BBC comedy 'Come Fly with Me'. That year also saw him cast in Norwegian World War II film 'Into the White'. As well as that, he was announced to voice Postman Pat in 'Postman Pat: The Movie - You Know You're The One' with David Tennant, Stephen Mangan and Jim Broadbent.

He also stars in a music video for Ed Sheeran as an obsessed fan in 'Lego House'.

Personal life: Rupert Grint was allegedly dating 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging' star Georgia Groome in 2011 though it remains unconfirmed. He is afraid of spiders just like his 'Harry Potter' character. He owns an ice-cream van. He supports the British football team is a Tottenham Hotspurs. He carried the Olympic torch during the London Olympic Torch Relay in 2012.

He has got involved with various charities including the Royal National Lifeboat Institution which involved taking part in 2010's Wacky Rally with his onscreen twin brothers James and Oliver Phelps, and Keech Hospice Care for which he auctioned a butterfly design on eBay.

The actor did not enjoy the romantic moment, due to his brother-sister relationship with Watson.

It might have been a moment that melted the hearts of Harry Potter fans, but actor Rupert Grint doesn't have fond memories of his on-screen kiss with Emma Watson. Grint’s character Ron Weasley finally got together with Hermione Granger in the final instalment of the franchise, but for the two actors it was all just very awkward.

Rupert Grint does not remember his kiss with Emma Watson fondly.

Speaking to People during the 'Celebration of Harry Potter' event in Orlando over the weekend, Grint opened up on the famous scene. "I never look back at that scene," Grint said. "I've known Emma since she was literally 9 years old and we had this very brother-sister relationship.”

The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman Review

Very Good

Shia LaBeouf is well-cast in this freewheeling combination of comedy, romance and action. He plays a scruffy guy with no plans and nothing to lose, lost in a strange culture while falling in love with the wrong woman. It's not a particularly original premise, and much of what happens feels wildly improbable, but the characters and situations are so entertaining that we can't help but hold on for the ride.

The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman

It opens in Chicago, where Charlie (LaBeouf) watches helplessly as his mother (Melissa Leo) dies in hospital, asking her what he should do next. Then there she is appearing to him, telling him to visit Bucharest. "That's weirdly specific," he replies, but he follows her advice, and on the flight over has another encounter with a dead person. This one asks him to look up his daughter Gabi (Evan Rachel Wood) and give her a message. Of course, Charlie is instantly smitten, but tries to ignore the fact that Gabi's psychopathic husband Nigel (Mads Mikkelsen) looks easily capable of murder. As does the mobster club owner Darko (Til Schweiger) Charlie has a run in with while out on the town with his youth hostel roommates, two chucklehead Brits (Rupert Grint and James Buckley).

As the title suggests, Charlie feels like death is inevitable for him, especially now that he seems to have caught whatever that kid from The Sixth Sense had. LaBeouf gives Charlie just the right mix of hapless loser and quick-thinking resourcefulness, and his chemistry with Wood is tetchy and fun to watch. Meanwhile, the scene-stealing supporting stars Mikkelsen, Schweiger, Grint and Buckley add a terrific mixture of comedy silliness and dark peril. This seems to be director Fredrik Bond's main goal here: to blend genres from grim drama to sweet romance to goofy slapstick to Taken-style action violence.

Harry Potter is an Auror; Ron Weasley helps George run Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes; and Hermione Granger is big in the Ministry of Magic. J.K. Rowling has released a short story in the form of a Daily Prophet article in which she imagines how Dumbledore's army are aged 34.

J.K. Rowling has released a short 1500 word story on Pottermore detailing the lives of Harry Potter and the rest of the Hogwarts gang 16 years after they defeated Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

The story is written from the viewpoint of Daily Prophet reporter Rita Skeeter who continues to meddle and gossip monger. Harry, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley are all attending the Quidditch World Cup Final in the Patagonian Desert where Skeeter is celebrity spotting. The four friends and now couples are still hugely popular and Skeeter reports how large crowds have turned out to see them.

Rupert Grint Is Broadway-Bound With 'It's Only A Play' Role

The 'Harry Potter' star will be continuing his stage career with a new Broadway role.

Rupert Grint is to make his debut on Broadway in a play called It's Only A Play. The former Harry Potter star is the latest actor to sign on to director Jack O'Brien's star-studded take on Terrance McNally's famed production, according to Variety.

It was only last year that the Thunderpants film star made his stage debut, in the West End revival of Mojo, but it looks like he has been fast-tracked to the most prestigious theatre circuit in the world with his latest role.

The 25 year-old English star will be joining an A-list cast that includes Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Stockard Channing, Megan Mullally, F. Murrary Abraham and newcomer Micah Stock. Playing for a limited 17 weeks, the show will reportedly see Grint star as Frank Finger, the director of a new play.

Jk Rowling has added to her already extensive Harry Potter universe by writing a new post for her fansite, Pottermore.com. Rowling may have already written all the Potter books she intends to but that doesn't mean she can't keep building her extraordinary imaginary universe. Entitled History of the Quidditch World Cup, Rowling's new writing details the origins and rich history of Quidditch, the popular sport played on broomsticks.

Half of Rowling's new Potter-based writing was made available today, with the other half scheduled for Friday 21st March. All together, the history will be a 2,400-word account of the magical sport that has seen fans across the world captivated. Harry Potter spent a great deal of his time at Hogwarts school either training for or competing in Quidditch matches, meaning the sport is tightly interwoven into the Potter lore.

Daniel Radcliffe said he was “deeply honoured” to pick up the best actor award at the 2014 WhatsOnStage Awards in London last night – an evening which saw the Harry Potter actor reunite with his erstwhile colleague, Rupert Grint, the Ron to his Harry.

The classic stop-motion children's show is being turned into a shiny new animated movie.

The well-loved British children's programme, Postman Pat, is being turned into a new movie that will bring the stop motion techniques employed in the series into the 21st century with 3D animation. The show, which followed the routine of Greendale's friendliest postman, Pat Clifton, and his "black and white cat" Jess, will receive a new incarnation this year with Postman Pat: The Movie.

Pat Clifton is well-known in the village of Greendale for, not only his prompt and polite deliveries having been in the postal business for many years, but for frequently taking it upon himself to help out his friends and neighbours in other areas of their lives. It appears, however, that delivering letters and parcels and saving his village isn't the only talent this postman has. When he discovers that a televised talent competition is holding auditions in the town, he is encouraged to try out. Much to everyone's surprise, his flawless singing voice renders the judges, led by Simon Cowbell, completely blown away and his rise to stardom begins. However, a singing career means that he won't have a lot of time to continue his postal duties, something that causes major chaos when his adversary replaces him with a series of frightening mail-robots hell bent on world domination.
