
Rupert Grint (born 24.08.1988) Rupert Grint is an English actor most famous for playing the role of Ron Weasley in the 'Harry Potter' film series based on the books by JK Rowling.
Childhood: Rupert Grint was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. His parents are Joanna, a housewife, and Nigel Grint, a dealer of memorabilia. He attended St Joseph's Primary School in Hertford and began performing in school plays. He then started attending a theatre group called Top Hat Stage and Screen School and later went to Richard Hale School but left at 16. He has won several awards for 'Harry Potter' including an Otto Award and a Young Artist Award. In 2002, he starred in the family comedy 'Thunderpants' opposite Bruce Cook. 2006, saw him opposite Julie Walters (who plays his onscreen mother in 'Harry Potter') and Tamsin Egerton in the comedy drama 'Driving Lessons'. In 2010, he appeared in the thriller 'Cherrybomb' opposite Kimberley Nixon and also 'Wild Target' alongside Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy. Neither film was very well-received. In 2011, he made a cameo in 'Little Britain' stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams' new BBC comedy 'Come Fly with Me'. That year also saw him cast in Norwegian World War II film 'Into the White'. As well as that, he was announced to voice Postman Pat in 'Postman Pat: The Movie - You Know You're The One' with David Tennant, Stephen Mangan and Jim Broadbent.
He also stars in a music video for Ed Sheeran as an obsessed fan in 'Lego House'.
Personal life: Rupert Grint was allegedly dating 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging' star Georgia Groome in 2011 though it remains unconfirmed. He is afraid of spiders just like his 'Harry Potter' character. He owns an ice-cream van. He supports the British football team is a Tottenham Hotspurs. He carried the Olympic torch during the London Olympic Torch Relay in 2012.
He has got involved with various charities including the Royal National Lifeboat Institution which involved taking part in 2010's Wacky Rally with his onscreen twin brothers James and Oliver Phelps, and Keech Hospice Care for which he auctioned a butterfly design on eBay.
