The highly anticipated movie surrounding New York’s infamous CBGB club is getting closer, and we’ve got some fantastic film stills to whet your punk-rock appetite. Rupert Grint stars alongside his Harry Potter nemsis Alan Rickman who portrayed Professor Snape, the man who terrorized his best friend Harry for years at Hogwarts.

The ginger actor plays Dead Boys' guitarist Cheetah Chrome Elsewhere, Taylor Hawkins is Iggy Pop, Malin Åkerman is Debbie Harry, Sting's daughter Mickey Sumner is Patti Smith and Twilight actress Ashley Greeneis Kristal's daughter Lisa.

Rickman stars as the club's founder Hilly Kristal as the film charts the club’s incredible journey from a place to watch country, bluegrass and blues to the birthplace of the underground punk and rock n roll scene. The seminal club provides as much of a character than anyone of its all-star cast.

Rupert GrintOkay, Grint's about to drop those pants

One of the biggest focuses of the trailer is the fact that Grint’s bum makes an appearance. A woman asks him if his hair is real – those ginger locks – and upon learning that she doesn’t believe him, he drops those pants quick-time to prove his follicle integrity.

As a film focussing on such an important musical movement, the soundtrack was always going to be something special. And given that it features Blondie, Talking Heads, the Velvet Underground, the Stooges, the New York Dolls, Flamin’ Groovies and The Police MC5, a Joey Ramone solo track amongst others, we’re pretty sure it won’t disappoint.

Randall Miller who has directed ten films between 1992 and today - including 2005’s Marilyn Hotchkiss’ Ballroom Dancing and Charm School and 2008’s Bottle Shock - which was a self-distributed film, is directing the film. This, however, is easily his biggest project by way of the stars he’s directing.

CBGB hits the CBGB festival on October 11th in the U.S
