Russell Brand has heard 'Parklife' more than a few times in recent days
During an interview with radio station Magic FM the comedian told presenter Jo Parkerson, "I'm a comedian, and I make all my living out of mucking around and talking, and I've certainly tormented people in the past. So yeah, I don't mind that, I think - unless it's malicious.”
The 39 year old British star addressed an anti-capitalist protest in London before attending a West End press junket.

Russell Brand has been mocked for leaving the Bonfire night protests in London to hobnob with celebs
Users of the social media microblogging site dubbed Brand “the epitome of the champagne socialist” after he left the London branch of the ‘Million Mask March’ in Trafalgar Square on Wednesday evening (5 Nov). It was organised by anarchical protest group Anonymous which saw thousands of protestors wearing identical Guy Fawkes masks, like the ones made famous in V For Vendetta, voicing their opposition to capitalism and political oppression.

#PARKLIFE! Twitter users go after Russell Brand...by chanelling Phil Daniels.
Russell Brand can be verbose. Very verbose. Sometimes, Russell Brand can be so verbose in his writing that his message loses all meaning. It was something evident in his latest rant at the holders of power, which sparked a new online craze.

Tom Hiddleston and James McAvoy are among these Hollywood actors who have given Shakespeare a shot in between shooting blockbusters.
There’s no better way of proving that you are a true artiste than taking on a challenging Shakespearean role. Not content with raking in millions of dollars from their blockbuster movies, these famous actors and actresses decided that they needed some to shake up their careers with a bit of William Shakespeare.
Tom Hiddleston’s talents aren’t restricted to playing Marvel Comics’ super villian, Loki. The Thor star has a soft spot for Shakespeare, starring in the Hollow Crown series as Henry V as well as taking on Coriolanus at the Donmar Warehouse. Sounds like an easy role to kill a bit of time in between filming. Well, maybe not, but there’s certainly a lot of killing of some kind.
Tom Hiddleston isn't just the bad guy from Thor
Davina McCall admits she doesn't even touch alcohol anymore, these other celebrities are also proud to be on the straight and narrow.
Former addict Davina Mccall has admitted that she won’t even touch a drop of alcohol, because “it just leads [her] to drugs.” Davina has been vocal about her struggles with Class A drugs in her teens and early twenties, claiming during an interview in The Guardian, “Heroin makes you forget everything, no problems, no worries, no anything.”
Davina has spoken candidly about her past addiction
It was family friend (and former heroin addict) Eric Clapton, who encouraged Davina to quit the drug and clean up her act. Davina has since gone on to become one of the UK’s most loved television presenters, hosting Big Brother for ten years as well as game shows The Million Pound Drop and Five Minutes to a Fortune.
The funny-man doesn't shy away from the big topics
Russell Brand’s journey from drug addict to TV presenter to writer to political activist – with some overlap – has been well documented.

Katy Perry's new album 'Prism' takes us through her romantic turmoil and her strengthening character as her sound reaches maturity.
Katy Perry has certainly done a lot of growing up since the release of her number one album Teenage Dream - and the stark realities she's faced are clear in Prism.
The 'Roar' hitmaker has explained that several of the songs on her new album are '100% autobiographical' and admitted to USA Today that she 'was a ball of vulnerability' while writing the tracks.
Most of the emotion came out of her devastating divorce from her husband of 14 months Russell Brand, which led to her experiencing often suicidal feelings in which she addresses in the track 'And By the Grace of God'. Her song 'Ghost' is another tune directly referring to a text that Brand said asking for a divorce. Her not so straightforward relationship with singer John Mayer also contributed to some of the pain in 'Prism', but it hasn't all been doom and gloom.

Check out the new trailer for 'Paradise' below.
In Paradise, the appropriately named Lamb Mannerheim takes the scenic route in coming of age. Scarred for life but still alive after a plane crash, Lamb shocks her home-town by taking off to Las Vegas where she meets William, a carefree bartender played by Russell Brand and Loray, a lounge singer with the cynicism to influence our main character into trying new things.
"I've got a heart full of rage and an L.L. Bean tote bag full of cash," Lamb says in the trailer. "I just want to experience worldly pleasures for the first time…the basic abominations," she adds. But are we in line for another coming of age story?
Lamb Mannerheim was a beautiful, smart, strictly religious, perfect young girl and the pride of both her parents and her local parish. That is until one day, when an accident changed her views on faith forever. Lamb suffered extreme burns over two thirds of her body after a traumatic plane crash and now she feels it's time to question her religion and all she previously believed in; after all, why had she suffered so much while trying to be as virtuous as possible? Throwing caution to the wind and horrifying her parents, she takes a vacation to none other than Las Vegas to experience the sin and debauchery she knows exist in the world. On the way she meets the glamorous lounge singer Loray and a British bartender named William who take her on a journey of freedom to fulfil her bucket list of sin and make her see that there's more to life than prayer and etiquette.

The comic played a warm-up show in London this week where he made some colourful comments about his sex life with ex-wife Katy Perry
Russell Brand was back on-stage and back freely discussing his sexual misadventures in front of a live audience this week as he prepares himself for the upcoming Messiah Complex tour. Never one to let his well-publicised personal life go by without a few jibes, the comic's pre-tour warm-up show, held last week (July 31) in London, was full of sexual anecdotes and blue humour, and he didn't hold back when it was time to discuss his married life either, freely discussing his bedroom activities with Katy Perry.
Russell allegedly hooked up with two girls following his Soho show last week
Well, it wasn't so much the scale of his and Perry's sexual misadventures that was being discussed, more Brands' yearning for sexual freedom after committing himself to just one woman. The comic compared his monogamous lifestyle to that of a monk living in celibacy, and joked that when he was getting intimate with the beautiful Ms Perry, her would tell himself to "think of anyone else," throughout the love-making.
Despicable Me 2 continued its dominance over the box-office this past weekend.
Yeah, we had a feeling this might happen. The $190 million budget of Pacific Rim is seemingly looking further away than ever after Guillermo Del Toro's blockbuster took just $38.3 million on its box-office debut over the weekend. The Idris-Elba starring movie - which courted mainly negative reviews - is now on course to become a loss making movie for Thomas Tull's Legendary Pictures.
As expected, it was the superb Despicable Me 2 that maintained the No.1 spot on its second weekend, grossing $44.8 million for a domestic total of $229.2 million and establishing itself as one of the success stories of the year. The animated flick featuring the voices of Russell Brand and Steve Carell also topped the global box office for the weekend with $100.5 million in ticket sales, Pacific Rim followed with $91.3 million.
Sony executives will have been jumping for joy on Sunday, with news that Adam Sandler's comedy sequel Grown Ups 2 opened to a stellar $42.5 million domestically. In fact, Sony were so happy they released a cheery statement for us all to read, via the Hollywood Reporter:
Despicable Me 2 has launched the clever Minions into popular culture.
Chances are, if you've read anything about Despicable Me 2 - the sequel to 2010's Illumination Entertainment movie about Steve Carell's criminal mastermind Gru - then you've read about the Minions. Gru's hilarious yellow henchmen steal the sequel away from Carell, Kristen Wiig and Russell Brand - and the kids are hungry for more.
A Minion And Steve Carell At The Despicable Me 2 Premiere
"As we left the theater, my son was raving about the minions. He wanted a minion toy," Carell told USA Today after the premiere, "I took no offense. There is no competing with these masters of upstagery. You just have to bow down to minion appeal."
Continue reading: Despicable Me 2: Where Do The Minions Go From Here?
With the same teams of writers and directors, this sequel sticks closely to the winning formula of the 2010 original: pile on so much snappy humour and colourful wackiness that no one will worry about the plot. So the film is sweetly engaging and relentlessly hilarious, but there's nothing particularly inventive or memorable about it.
After discovering his less villainous side, Gru (Carell) is now trying to go legit with his sidekick Dr Nefario (Brand) and their horde of mischievous yellow minions. Gru is also enjoying the challenges of being a father to his lively adopted daughters Margo, Agnes and Edith (Cosgrove, Fisher and Gaier). Then he meets the undercover spy Lucy (Wiig) and her boss Silas (Coogan), who ask for his help hunting down the bad guy who stole a secret government chemical. Gru reluctantly takes the job, and his suspicion falls on Eduardo (Bratt), not because he looks just like former fellow villain El Macho, but because Margo is in love with his surly teen son (Arias).
As before, the film mixes cute family sentimentality with wacky cartoon slapstick in which everyone gets smashed, pounded and blown up but emerges unscathed to face the next bit of outrageous mayhem. The violent undercurrents are sometimes a little disturbing, especially when children are talking about murder, but the movie's wildly ridiculous tone constantly reminds us to stop taking anything seriously. Thankfully, we're constantly distracted by the whizzy, action-packed animation, which makes especially witty use of the 3D.

Katy Perry discusses her divorce with British comedian Russell Brand and her on-off- relationship with John Mayer, both ‘broken birds’, in an interview with US Vogue.
Katy Perry, in an interview with US Vogue, has revealed some of the details surrounding her mysterious divorce from comedian Russell Brand. The ‘Pieces of Me’ singer claimed the marriage began to disintegrate as they were apart frequently with Brand becoming “very controlling” when Perry toured. Further difficulties arouse when Brand, on his comedy tour, would use Perry as material. Perry said this was made apparent when she “had come to surprise him at one of his shows”, not being aware she was in the audience at the time.
The marriage fell into a similar pattern of most celebrity unions where Perry claims “when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal”. Unfortunately for Perry, Brand’s ideal did not meet his expectations in reality.
Perry described her former husband as a “very smart” “magical man” when she first met him. Perry claims that she was deeply in love with her husband when they married in December 2009.
Former evil-doer Gru, who once attempted the career-defining heist of stealing the moon, has seemingly left a life of evil deeds and landed himself a new kind of job. Albeit fairly reluctantly and without actually having a choice, he has been enlisted by Silas Ramsbottom of the Anti-Villain League on a world-rescue mission as a new villain arrives in town, to the delight and pride of his young adopted daughters Agnes, Edith and Margo. He and Agent Lucy Wilde must now embark on a new kind of adventure with the help of Gru's faithful, blabbering Minions. But with interfering neighbours coupled with his girls becoming older and smarter, saving the world from a ruthless rogue seems the least of his worries.
'Despicable Me 2' is the wonderful follow-up to the Golden Globe nominated 2010 animated comedy 'Despicable Me'. It has been produced by the geniuses behind 'Ice Age' and 'Shark Tale' comes 'Despicable Me 2' and sees the thrilling return of directors Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud ('The Lorax') with screenwriters Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio ('The Santa Clause 2', 'Horton Hears a Who!', 'Hop'). Already with an award nomination under its belt (from the Golden Trailer Awards), this adorable flick will be released on June 28th 2013.

The 7-bedroom, 11-bathroom Hollywood Hills property also has its own waterfall.
Katy Perry has put the mansion she once shared with ex-husband Russell Brand on the market for a cool $7 million. The pop superstar was looking for a quick private sale, though after failing to receive any substantial bids, has decided to put the 7-bedroom Hollywood Hills house on the public market. Perry, 28, and British comedian Brand, 37, bought the property for $6.5 million in 2011, though Brand transferred property ownership to his ex-wife after their divorce.
It features 11 bathrooms, a sweeping staircase, stained glass windows and a stone foyer. There's also plenty of land - 3 acres to be precise - and two guests wings, a swimming pool and waterfall. Basically it's one of the biggest houses we've ever seen, and it yours for just $6.925 million, though why not go in at $6 million? Perry wants a quick sale.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton caused a stir on Tuesday (April 9, 2013) after suggesting that Perry and Brand had been spotted "making out" in Los Angeles, however, the story was later pulled. "A source told us today that they saw Katy Perry and her ex-husband Russell Brand making out, but we have confirmation now it simply wasn't true! We're so sorry for jumping the gun on this one, KatyCat and Russ!" Hilton wrote afterwards.

Having hatched an evil plot to steal the moon in the first movie, Gru appears to have let fatherhood take over from his dastardly passions after the adoption of Agnes, Edith and Margo. However, his bad deeds have not been forgotten. As his new daughters get older, he is forced to join Agent Lucy Wilde of the Anti-Villain League in their plot to overthrow a new evil rival with plans way beyond their competency. While his minions attempt to rescue him from this difficult new project, he is ultimately forced to agree to the mission after facing formidable, if ridiculously named, company director Silas Ramsbottom. It's Gru's first time on the side of good - but will he find it a suitable career move from his former immoral ways? Or will this new evil give him plenty of new ideas?
'Despicable Me 2' was the hugely anticipated follow-up to Golden Globe nominated animation 'Despicable Me'. From the producers of 'Ice Age' and 'Shark Tale', it has been directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud ('The Lorax') alongside writers Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio ('The Santa Clause 2', 'Horton Hears a Who!', 'Hop'). Featuring that smash hit single 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams, the film was released in July 2013.

Frankie Boyle caused outrage at Wembley Arena with his risque jokes.
Frankie Boyle had the majority of his performance axed from a BBC3 broadcast of Give It Up For Comic Relief after his close-to-the-bone jokes became too much for the BBC. The infamous Scottish comedian joked about the Royal Family, the Jimmy Savile scandal, Oscar Pistorius's murder trial and Kate Middleton's pregnancy in the gig to raise awareness of drug and alcohol addiction.
Speaking of the Queen's recent hospitalisation, Boyle told the audience at Wembley Arena, "I wish she'd died- because they wouldn't have been able to tell anyone. They would have had to hollow out her body into a suit and fill it with helium." Several newspapers report the comedian being booed for jokes about the Duchess of Cambridge's breasts and claims that he fathered her child. "She told me she was on the f***ing pill," he said.
The Glasgow-born comedian, whose become a multi-millionaire after forging a hugely successful career in comedy, continued in bad taste with a reference to the Savile scandal. "I think the BBC made Jimmy Savile wear that jewellery so children could hear him coming. I had thought the only way I'd end up back on the BBC would be if I started f***ing kids," he said. Other jokes about the Pope and Oscar Pistorius were also cut from the broadcast, which ran with a two-and-half-hour time delay.
Head honchos at London's foremost dance and drama school the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts have moved to distance themselves from suggestions from Hollywood star Julianne Hough that she was mentally and physically abused as a student there. The Footloose star, and girlfriend of Ryan Seacrest, told Cosmopolitan magazine that she suffered abuse as an aspiring dancer in London.
Hough claimed she was taunted at the school, saying "I was told if I ever went back to the United States, three things were going to happen. One: I was going to amount to nothing. Two: I was going to work at Whataburger. And three: I was going to end up a slut. So, it was like, I can't go back. I have to be this person." Most worryingly, Hough said the abuse got worse when she hit puberty.
The comments have prompted Academy bosses to release a statement insisting that media outlets suggesting the star was abused while studying there are wrong. It reads, "We feel this article has been extremely badly worded and if re-read, you will see that although it mentions our name, it does not say that any abuse took place here.We feel sure Julianne would herself be horrified to learn that she had caused her old school any embarrassment or harmed its good name."

Eddie Murphy was honoured by his peers for his outstanding contribution to film, TV, music and stand-up over his 30 + year career.
Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, Adam Sandler, and Russell Brand were just some of the famous faces at the Beverley Hills gala being aired on Spike later this month (it airs Nov. 14 at 10 p.m. on Spike). Murphy's friends and co-stars had nothing but praise for Murphy, with his appearances on such comedy classics as Coming To America and The Beverley Hills Cop being recalled by co-stars Arsenio Hall and Judge Reinhold. Jeffrey Katzenberg of Dreamworks Animation also gave his heart to Murphy's Donkey character from the Shrek films, whilst his Life co-star, Martin Lawrence, told him from onstage, “You’ve got a friend for life."
There were also video highlights from the funny man's seminal stand-up performances from the 80's, Raw and Delirious, although despite much attempted persuasion Murphy declined to get back on stage and perform stand up again.
