Russell Brand and Danny Boyle are teaming up for a soccer-based film.

The comedian and the Oscar-winning director - who support English clubs West Ham United and Bury respectively - spoke to each other at the Vanity Fair Academy Awards party on Sunday (27.02.11) and said they would love to work together on a sports-based project.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Russell told Danny what a fan of his work he is, Danny admitted he's a fan of Russell's stand-up and they talked about working together.

"They'd love to make a film about football. Danny's secret wish is to film '365 Days In The Life Of Bury FC'. Russ loved that."

Russell's acting career has really taken off in recent years; as well as starring in a remake of 'Arthur' alongside Dame Helen Mirren, he has also been linked with a role in musical 'Rock of Ages'.

Danny's latest film '127 Hours' was nominated for Best Picture at this year's Oscars, although lost out to 'The King's Speech'.
