Actor/comedian Russell Brand was forced to scrap a scheduled debate to celebrate the launch of his book on Wednesday (23Oct14) after tensions arose between fellow panellists.

The British funnyman held an 'Anarchic Fayre' in London on Wednesday to mark the release of Revolution, his new book about democracy and the way the U.K. should be run.

The panel discussion was the highlight of the event, but it had to be axed because speaker Peter Tatchell was unhappy with fellow activist Laurence Easeman's views and refused to appeared with him.

Tatchell writes on Twitter.com on Tuesday (23Oct14), "I knew nothing about Easeman until yesterday. I won't appear with him based on evidence I've seen. I raised Easeman with Russell Brand... As a result of allegations & my concerns, Russell Brand has cancelled tonight's debate with Easeman & is investigating him. Good move."

The event went ahead with the scheduled musical acts and book reading.
