Nice Work, 'Noah': Darren Aronofsky's latest epic, Noah, was released last weekend and managed to triumph at its debut box office with $44 million, despite all the negative publicity regarding religious condemnation and middling reviews. Starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson, Noah is based on the well-known Genesis tale but is given a pump of testosterone with the Black Swan director's dramatic CGI marvel. Empire Film Awards: Emma Thompson and James McAvoy were the big winners at this year's Empire Film Awards, taking home trophies in their respective acting categories for Saving Mr. Banks and Filth. Space thriller Gravity and the fantasy sequel The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug were the evening's most-awarded movies with Simon Pegg, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sally Hawkins, Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman, Steve Coogan and Margot Robbie also honoured for a smashing year in film. Miley Cyrus Is Sad: Pop star Miley Cyrus was left devastated this week after the death of her Alaskan dog, Floyd. It's not know how Floyd passed but the news hit the singer square in the middle of her Bangerz tour. On Wednesday night in Boston, Miley eschewed her usual raunchy routines (mostly) for tearful covers of Fleetwood Mac and Coldplay in tribute to her beloved pup. Read the full story here.

Glastonbury Is Coming: It's that time of year again and the official line-up has just been confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2014. Without the hard-rocking dinosaurs The Rolling Stones stealing headlines, this year's line-up is strong across the board with pretty much every genre represented. Kasabian, Elbow, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Jack White will be topping the bill whilst Manic Street Preachers, Dolly Parton, Blondie, Robert Plant, Kelis and Lana Del Rey will all be gracing Worthy Farm. Click for the full line-up list.

Jack White Is Back: Jack White delighted his fans early this week when he dropped a new track from his upcoming album, Lazarro. The record won't be released until the summer but the electric instrumental track, 'High Ball Stepper,' is hopefully a hint of more to come from the former White Stripes frontman's second solo album. Listen to the heavy guitar groove here. As well as a bunch of festival appearances across the summer, White has just been announced for Glastonbury 2014.

Bye Bye 'HIMYM': Well we knew this moment was coming but there was little to prepare us for the final episode of hit CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. We're not going to be the ones to spoil the ending for you if you didn't watch Monday's dramatic finale, which marked the end of nine seasons and an era of catchphrases, friendship, and one long bedtime story. 'Toy Story 3' Knocked Down A Peg: Toy Story 3 this week lost its title as the world's biggest animated movie after Frozen overtook the Pixar sequel with a total of $1.072 billion in box office revenue. Johnny Depp Engaged: It may have been clear for all to see but Johnny Depp has confirmed the rumours that he and actress Amber Heard are indeed engaged. Spotted at the Transcendence premiere in Japan this week, Depp described his diamond ring as a "chick ring" but waited until his interview with David Letterman last night to officially confirm that he and his The Rum Diary co-star are engaged. And it's official. And he gets on well with her dad. And they're definitely engaged! Watch here.

Video Of The Week - 'The Other Woman' Trailer: New revenge comedy The Other Woman became the most talked-about premiere of the were after the movie's co-stars - Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton, have been carrying on their girl gang antics at premieres in London and Amsterdam. Watch the trailer here. The movie follows the story of three women who band together to seek revenge against the cheater they each think they're dating. At the premiere in London, Mann cheekily grabbed Diaz's butt in front of paps in a flirtation which has generated a media frenzy of its own. Check out premiere snaps here.
