Rocker Ryan Adams cut short a recent phone interview with an Australian radio show when the host quizzed him about his marriage to singer/actress Mandy Moore.

The Wonderwall singer, who wed Moore in 2009, was promoting his new self-titled album in late August (14) and made it clear he was not interested in opening up about his romantic relationship to the Melbourne-based Dj, politely stating, "I just don't share at all about my private life."

However, when the prying interviewer broached the subject again, Adams hung up.

The incident was documented in a interview, published this week (ends12Sep14), chronicling a conversation between Adams and his management representative Michael Meisel following the call.

During the chat, the singer said, "Ok, so I just hung up 'cause I was on the radio getting asked about my wife. I was really nice about it the first time, and I'm sorry, but I won't repeat myself.

"The deal is this: I'm a private person and I'll be a gentleman and say I'm not talking about my marriage ever. I'll never talk about it. Ever."

Adams continued, "I'll talk about rescue cats for a few seconds. But even there I don't want to talk about my pets. If I have children I'm not going to discuss that with anyone ever. I'll suggest it once and then I'm going to hang up."

The star appeared to have had a change of heart after the radio outburst and subsequently sent the Australian radio host a message via, apologising for getting "disconnected".
