Ryan Adams is covering Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’.
Ryan Adams has plans to cover the whole of Taylor Swift’s album, 1989. The 40-year-old singer announced the news on Wednesday (5th August) on Instagram and Twitter. Recording of the cover has already begun and Adams shared a series of short videos from his recording sessions with his followers on social media.

‘Taylor Swift 1989 full album cover night 1. As played by the Smiths,’ Adams wrote, captioning a picture of a microphone and two band members preparing to play.
Swift shared her reaction to the news on social media on Thursday (6th August). She was certainly overjoyed with Adams’ plans, as she revealed whilst responding to Adams’ announcement on Twitter. The 24-year-old asked if the news was true, claiming if it was that she would “pass out”.
‘Yes. Just finished Style. Badass tunes, Taylor,’ Adams replied. ‘We're sandblasting them and they're holding steady.’
‘Cool I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I'm going to celebrate today every year as a holiday. I'M CALM,’ Swift wrote in another tweet.
Earlier this week, Swift also announced the next single she will be releasing from her 1989 album. The next single, the fifth to be released from Swift’s album, will be ‘Wildest Dreams’. Three of the four tracks have reached No.1in the Billboard Chart and the music video for ‘Bad Blood’ has broken records.
Swift’s 1989 tour continues and her shows have featured a number of special surprise guests, including Lorde, The Weeknd, Jason Derulo, Lena Dunham, and Karlie Kloss. Her next performance is in Seattle on Saturday (8th August) but will Adams be joining her on stage?
