The former Sexiest Man Alive is enjoying being dad to 13-month-old daughter James.
People magazine have declared Ryan Reynolds the Sexiest Dad Alive on this week’s cover, ahead of the release of his new comic book movie Deadpool. Reynolds and wife Blake Lively welcomed daughter James last year and the 39-year-old couldn't be happier being a dad to his little girl.
Speaking to People Reynolds, who affectionately calls his daughter ‘Shrimpie’, said: “Having a daughter was a dream come true for me. I would have made a terrible king.” The Canadian actor grew up as the youngest of four boys and now says he has no problem “being surrounded by estrogen” as the only man in the house.

“I never admitted it out loud, to myself or my wife, but I really wanted a little girl. It’s the best. I don’t have to prepare to be wrapped around my daughter’s finger. I have been wrapped around her little finger since the day she plopped out into this world.”
In his latest movie Deadpool Reynolds, who was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2010, plays a superhero who is severely disfigured, a look which didn't go down too well with little James. “No, I made the baby cry every time the baby saw me in that makeup,” Reynolds told People at a fan screening of the film.
“You would know as soon as she saw me that she would need the diaper changed. Everything would evacuate, every bodily fluid. It was horrible!” Reynolds’ costar T.J. Miller added: “[James] heard his voice on the set and was like, ‘That’s my dad,’ but couldn’t figure out who it was,” he said.

“Then when she connected the two, it was a bit of a freak out situation — I mean, your father suddenly looks like Deadpool. There were some tears. I was on set that day. Ryan came out in his makeup and said, ‘I just horrified my daughter!’ ”
