British pop stars Sam and Ed have both landed two nominations each for the coveted prize - Sam has scored nods for his hit single Stay With Me and Latch, his collaboration with Disclosure.

Ed will go up against him with two tracks from his X album, Sing and Don't, while Iggy Azalea's collaboration with Charli XCX, Fancy, is also in the running.

Other tracks vying to be named the best song of the year include Rather Be by Clean Bandit, Rixton's Me and My Broken Heart, Sky Full Of Stars by Coldplay, Nico & Vinz single Am I Wrong, and Habits (Stay High) by Swedish star Tove Lo.

The prize, which celebrates European artists who have scored success in the U.S., will be handed out on Monday (19Oct15), and songwriter Graham Gouldman will receive the BMI Icon award.

Previous winners of the Song of the Year trophy include Adele, who triumphed in 2013 for her chart hit Rolling In The Deep, while Ed missed out on last year's (14) award.

The A Team star was nominated for helping write Taylor Swift's song Everything Has Changed, but he lost out to Daft Punk's huge hit single Get Lucky.
