It's obvious that Sam Smith is an extremely hard-working individual, but unfortunately, his hectic schedule has forced him to cancel yet more dates on his first headline tour supporting debut album 'In the Lonely Hour'. Last month, fans everywhere were disappointed to learn that Smith had suffered a mild haemorrhage on his vocal chords and therefore would have to rest his voice for a few dates in a bid to heal them. However, things have gone from bad to worse and he now has to suspend his tour for the next six to eight weeks.

After medical examinations, it has been concluded that Smith should proceed with throat surgery next week to fix the damage which will take several weeks to heal. The ever humble crooner seems more than gutted about having to let down yet more fans. 'I am very upset to announce I have been battling to get my vocal cords better the last 10 days but unfortunately they haven't recovered and I am going to need surgery', he told his Instagram followers. 'I'm so gutted to be missing all the shows and events I was meant to be playing. The doctors say I will be back in 6-8 weeks I cannot wait to sing for you all.'
