Sam Smith was ''amazing and supportive'' throughout Jess Glynne's vocal surgery.

The 'Hold My Hand' hitmaker was put in touch with the U.S. surgeon who did a similar operation on Adele and the 'Omen' hitmaker and although she didn't get to speak about Adele about the procedure Sam was giving ''great advice''.

Jess shared: ''Sam Smith has been amazing and supportive, giving me some great advice. He actually put me in contacts with the same doctor he and Adele saw.''

Jess ''really'' wanted to talk to the 'Skyfall' hitmaker as her management spoke to hers.

She told The Mirror newspaper: ''We were talking quite a lot throughout and my manager spoke to Adele's management about the situation and he helped out.

''I really wanted to speak to her about it, but I never got the chance.''

Jess found the whole experience made her feel ''depressed'' and had to use a white board to communicate.

The flame-haired singer added: ''It was bad timing. I was so, so upset. I had to cancel so many shows and just disappear. It was really hard to deal with.

''Three weeks of no talking was awful. It felt like forever. I had to carry a white-board to write everything down it was horrible. It makes you feel quite depressed.

''You have to drink so much water everyday. I was weeing all the time.''
