Chickenfoot stars Sammy Hagar and Joe Satriani will join past and present members of Kiss and Journey at an upcoming tribute gig for rocker Ronnie Montrose.
The all-stars will team up with Montrose's bandmates in Montrose and Gamma for the event at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, California on 27 April (12).
Montrose lost his battle with prostate cancer at the beginning of March (12).
Former Van Halen star Hagar was a close friend and was planning to meet up with Montrose and their ex-bandmates Denny Carmassi and Bill Church for a party to mark Hagar's 65th birthday later this year (12).
In a post on his website, he wrote, "Ronnie Montrose gave me my first break as a songwriter, as a frontman, as a recording artist, as a touring artist, and for that I will always be grateful.
"I was looking forward to a reunion for my birthday bash in Cabo with Denny, Bill and Ronnie - one of the few bands from that era where all four original members were still able to do it. It's a shame to lose Ronnie and I'm so sorry for his loved ones. Rest in peace."
