Sara Gilbert is a mother once again! This past Saturday (Feb 28th), the former 'Roseanne' actress and current 'The Talk' host and her wife Linda Perry welcomed their first child together, a baby boy called Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry.

Sara and Linda are now parents to a healthy baby boy

Gilbert announced the news with her fellow 'The Talk' co-hosts by sharing the very first photo of the couple's newborn son on Monday's episode, while she was obviously absent. "Our very own Sara and her wife Linda Perry are the proud parents of a new baby boy," Julie Chen told the audience.

We first became aware of Sara Gilbert as Darlene Connor, Roseanne’s tomboy daughter from 1988 to 1997. During her 9 season stint on the show, brainy Sara even managed to fit in the time to study art at Yale University. While her role as Darlene kept her in the memory of 90s tv audiences she went on to take various tv guest spots as we'll as a few small film roles, perhaps most memorably as the girl who bonds with Dick over Green Day in High Fidelity. She then landed the recurring role of Leslie Winkle on CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory alongside her former boyfriend and Roseanne co-star Johnny Galeckii. Winkler is notable for perhaps being the only character in the show who might just be smarter than Sheldon Cooper. Currently Gilbert hosts the NBC daytime chat show The Talk which she created and also serves as executive producer of.

Sara Gilbert's sexuality hasn't been a secret since she publicly came out of the closet in 2010, with many aware of the fact that she is a lesbian long before her public announcement. However the journey she took to get to where she is as a confident, openly gay woman was a long and difficult one to undertake, one that was made much easier thanks to her relationship with actor Johnny Galecki.

Gilbert and Galecki began seeing each other when he joined the cast of Roseanne in the early 1990's. Gilbert revealed on Thursday's (12 Sept.) show that when the pair began seeing each other, things seemed to be going well but she would be left with an overwhelming sense of depression whenever the two got intimate. Through Galecki's help she gradually became aware of what her feelings meant and slowly began to come to terms with her sexuality. Her revelation came one day after The Talk co-host Julie Chen admitted that she had plastic surgery to make her eyes wider prior to finding national fame.
