Sarah Jessica Parker is expected to play one of the two main roles in a TV adaptation of the crime thriller Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love, according to a report by The series is being produced by SKE with Anonymous Content, the team behind HBO's acclaimed True Detective.

Busted tells the story of two investigative journalists, Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker, whose reporting helped bring to light one of the biggest police corruption scandals in Philadelphia's history.

"Wendy and Barbara have written an amazing true story, and we're thrilled for it to be SKE's first television project," said SKE President of Production Carla Hacken and SKE President Jim Tauber in a statement. "Sarah Jessica Parker's coming on board, along with David Frankel and Don Roos is simply a perfect combination that we couldn't be happier about."

Parker, best known for her long and hugely successful role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, has only appeared in a handful of feature films since the seminal HBO series ended. She also guest starred on Fox's Glee and spent time on the stage in New York, however, should Busted be picked up, it would mark the actress's first full time return to television. 

Don Roos, the husband of Scandal's David Bucatinsky, will write the pilot episode while The Devil Wears Prada's director David Frankel will get behind the camera, as well as expecting as executive director.
