Sarah Silverman was puffing away at the Emmys.
Sarah Silverman took pot to the Emmys. Yep, it happened. The comedienne headed down the red-carpet and stopped for a quick chat with E!'s Giuliana Rancic who was asking celebrities to empty the contents of their purses on television. For some reason.

Anyway, Silverman was only too happy to give Rancic a sneak peak in her bag - even though she was carrying drugs. We say drugs, we mean a vaporizer pen, which is perfectly legal in the state of California - providing Silverman has a valid medical marijuana prescription.

"Liquid pot," she said, "It's legal...I like to have a puff as a treat, at appropriate times."
"I don't drink, I'm a light weight but I'll have a puff here and there and at the Governor's Ball...what have you," she added.

It turned out to be a pretty good night for Silverman - aside from the pot. She won an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special for her HBO special We Are Miracles. Silverman thanked the usual suspects and gave a shout-out to her boyfriend, the Welsh actor Michael Sheen, calling him "Mr Fancy Pants Sheen". She wrapped up by saying, "And we're just all made of molecules and we're hurtling through space right now."

It was a relatively predictable Emmys, with AMC meth-drama 'Breaking Bad' winning most of the major drama awards, including outstanding drama series. It was a miserable evening for HBO's 'True Detective' and 'Game of Thrones' (the latter went home empty handed), while Netflix series 'House of Cards' and 'Orange is the New Black' were also snubbed.

Seth Meyers got a decent reaction in the Twitter-sphere for his hosting, though the night belonged to the late, great Robin Williams who received a funny and touching tribute from his close friends Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg.
