Scarlett Johansson, the Hollywood actress and star of 'Lost in Translation', and 'Ghost World', is to divorce from her husband Ryan Reynolds, according to Time Magazine. The break-up is the latest in a recent string of high-profile splits, most notably MICHAEL C. HALL and his wife Jennifer Carpenter.
The couple married in a private ceremony in Reynold's hometown of Vancouver back in May 2008 and have managed to keep their relationship relatively private since then. However, a statement announcing their break-up read, "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and kindness, and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated". The break-up is the second high-profile split that Reynolds has been involved in - back in 2007 he ended his three year engagement to the singer Alanis Morissette.
The actor is now considered to be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and he plays the lead role in the much anticipated sci-fi action movie 'Green Lantern', due for release in the US on 17th June 2011. In addition to appearing in a number of high-profile movies herself, Johansson also released an album in 2008 entitled 'Anywhere I Lay My Head', which consisted mainly of Tom Waits covers.
